MEPITEL DRESSING

A transparent micro-adherent wound contact layer with safetac. Mepitel is atraumatic to the wound and surrounding skin on removal and can remain in place for up to 14 days depending on the condition of the wound. The dressing is medical grade silicone bound to an elastic polyamide net with a soft silicone (Safetac) layer that is non-adherent to moist wound beds and adheres gently to surrounding intact skin. It conforms well to body contours while the transparency allows for easy wound inspection during application and during wear.

Its porous structure allows exudate to pass into an outer absorbent dressing while the Safetac layer prevents the outer dressing from sticking to the wound. Mepitel can be used for a wide range of wounds such as skin tears, skin abrasions, surgical incisions, second degree burns, blistering, lacerations, partial and full thickness grafts, diabetic ulcers, venous and arterial ulcers.
